Keith W. Horne Sr.
HAMPTON—Keith W. Horne Sr., 79, born on Feb. 23, 1930, to the late Willie and Olivia Frances Horne, died March 11, 2009, in Hampton.
He was born in Newport News and lived in Hampton for 46 years.
Mr. Horne worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church East End; graduate of Huntington High School class of 1947; member of 609 Postal Union and served in the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Lorenzo Willie Horne.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Jeannette B. Horne of Hampton; a son, Keith W. Horne Jr. of Hampton; a daughter, Terri H. Tennessee (Alfonda) of Newport News; two grandchildren, Aaron M. Tennessee of Newport News, Cody A. Tennessee of Ivor; two brothers, Edward Lawrence Horne (Catherine) and Bernard Leroy Horne (Gloria), all of Hampton; a sister-in-law, Gwendolyn E. Horne of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A viewing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A service to celebrate his life will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Second Baptist Church East End, 3307 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News, with the Rev. Avery E. Miller, officiating. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble by noon at 708 Quincy Street, Hampton, for the procession to the church.
