COURTLAND—A 20-year-old man was shot and killed late Tuesday night in front of an apartment on Oak Trail, investigators said.

Brandon Keith Turner was shot multiple times at about 10:45

p.m., according to Det. Cpl. Richard Morris, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Morris said Thursday that authorities have made no arrests in the case. He declined to comment further because of the ongoing investigation.

It was the second time Turner, who had a Petersburg address, had been attacked at the apartment complex. He was shot in the face at point-blank range there on May 31.

An Oak Trail apartment resident, who did not wish to be identified, said she saw Tuesday night that Turner had been shot four times: once in the arm, twice in the chest and once again in the face.

Norfolk police arrested 18-year-old Eric Owen Parker, a Franklin resident, on June 3 after a foot chase in that city. Turner was being treated for the May 31 shooting at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Parker faces two felony charges for that attack — aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of malicious wounding — in Southampton County Circuit Court. Parker’s trial is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. April 2.

Police had declined to identify Turner after the May 31 shooting because of concerns for his safety.
