Elmer M. Smith Sr.
HAMPTON— Elmer M. Smith Sr. died March 3, 2009.
He was the only child born to Rupert Lee Smith and Rosetta McNair Smith in Franklin.
Mr. Smith was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WW II. He retired from Waterfront Lumber Company.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Ella Mae Wallace for 64 years and from this union six children were born, Linda Sneed, Sandra Smith, Yvonne Bagby, Minister Paula Scippio; one son, Elmer Smith Jr., and Rosetta DuPree; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held with his daughter, Minister Paul Scippio, officiating.
Arrangements are being held by Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, Newport News.
