Two area private schools saw their basketball seasons come to an end Wednesday night. A third will keep playing.

Southampton Academy’s girls lost in overtime to Tandem Friends Schools of Charlottesville in the quarterfinals of the Virginia Independent Schools Division 3 state tournament, and the Isle of Wight Academy boys fell to No. 2 seed Carlisle School in the boys’ quarterfinals.

Tidewater Academy, seeded first in the boys’ bracket, beat Williamsburg Christian to advance to Friday’s semifinals at Richard Bland College in Petersburg.
