Linwood H. Williams
FRANKLIN—Linwood Hillard Williams, 87, died Feb. 27, 2009, in Waverly Health Care Center after a long illness.
Mr. Williams was a native of Suffolk. He was the son of the late Tom T. Williams and Alice Johnson.
He retired from Walden’s Construction Co. as brick mason helper after 25-plus years of service. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
He was also a Army veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Raymond Thomas Williams; brothers, El Cannon Williams, Fred Williams, Tom Williams and Lozie Williams; and sister, Martha Linton.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae Williams; daughters, Ethel Mae Williams and Christine Williams Ford; sons, James Linwood Williams, Earnest Lee Williams, Lozie Hillard Williams, Ronnie Edward Williams and Marvin Lynn Williams; sisters, Bessie Whitehead, Ethel Mae Williams, Ann Melissa Scott and Justine Hunt; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
