Hazel M. Stephenson
CONWAY, N.C.—Hazel Maxine Lassiter Stephenson, 92, died Feb. 28, 2009.
Mrs. Stephenson was born Dec. 3, 1916 in Johnston County, N.C., the daughter of the late Shade A. Lassiter and Bertha Gertrude Goddard Lassiter.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Earl Jennings Stephenson.
She retired from Aster Nut Co. after working there for 20 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Veronica Byrd (Harvey) of Severn, N.C., Wanda Baker (Gary) of Nags Head, N.C., Kitty Weiskopf (Frank) of Baltimore, Nancy Latone (Dave) of Rochester, N.Y. Donna Futrell ( Roby) of Conway, N.C.; her son, Jennings Stephenson (Berta) of Laurel Springs, N.J.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and nieces.
Also a very special caregiver, Dorothy Taylor.
Funeral services were held Monday at Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson, N.C., with the Rev. Bob Johnson officiating.
Burial followed at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
