Disparity in system exists

To the Editor:

I read with interest the article in the news recently about the sentencing of the Virginia Beach rock singer for “sexting” with a girl. He will serve one year in prison.

Seems we have a big disparity in the legal system of doling out punishment to the guilty.

If he had resided in the “town with the big heart” in Southampton County, he could have been guilty of “worse than sexting,” might have gotten off with no jail time and maybe be given a job in law enforcement.

Virginia needs more prosecutors and judges (who will uphold the law) like the ones in Louisa County where this illegal activity was prosecuted.
