SUFFOLK—Victoria N. Lassiter, 89, died Feb. 21, 2009, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Betty West and wife of the late Johnnie Lassiter.
She was preceded in death by three sons, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was a retired housewife and a long time member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville.
Survivors include two sons, Isaac L. Lassiter (Bertha) of Suffolk, Norman E. Lassiter of Newport News; five daughters, Mabel Ruth (Erma) Lassiter of Portsmouth, Beatrice L. Wolfrey of Suffolk, Fannie B. Evans of Eatonton, Ga., Clara C. Lassiter and Cynthia L. Matthews, of Suffolk; one sister, Barbara Campbell of New York; and one brother, the Rev. W.S. Walker (Carolyn) of Edenton, N.C.; four sister-in-laws, 30 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Peebles Funeral Home, 1016 E. Washington St.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville.
Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at 207 N. Capital St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
