Betty B. Burton
SUFFOLK—Betty Barrett Burton, 67, died Feb. 25, 2009.
She was born in Isle of Wight County, the daughter of the late Ava Darden Barrett and Walter Strouse Barrett.
She was also predeceased by her sister, Eunice Barrett Bounds; niece, Katie Moore; and nephew, Don Barrett.
Mrs. Burton retired after 19 years in administration from Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a member of Oakland Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of almost 48 years, Robert Gordon Burton; sons, Mark Allen Burton and Robert Gregory Burton all of Suffolk; grandchildren, Logan Gabrielle Burton and Warren Drescher Burton both of Windsor; sisters, Elsie Barrett White (Earl) of Suffolk, Effie Barrett O’Berry of Suffolk, Christine Barrett Rock (John) of Chesapeake; brother, Walter E. Barrett of Olalla, Wash.; aunt, Myra D. Cobb of Newport News; nieces, Terry Stephenson, Cindy King, Linda, Peggy, Audrey and Debbie Barrett, nephews, Michael, John, and Brian Jory, Al and Tim Buppert, Rudy O’Berry, Larry Bounds and Robert Barrett.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Mark Burns officiating.
Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Friday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
