SEDLEY—Michael Nelson “Mike” Ballard, 36, died Feb. 13, 2009.
Born in Franklin, Mike worked in the sheet finishing department of International Paper and was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his father, Guthrie Emuel “Bob” Ballard, Jr. and wife, Pat; his mother Jean Howell Drewry, all of Franklin; one sister, Lorrie Coggsdale and husband, Kenny, of Portsmouth; one niece, Maggie Coggsdale; two nephews, Zach and Jacob Coggsdale; two step-sisters, Shari Horne of Sedley and Michelle Neal of Prince George; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating.
Interment followed in Colosse Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, 18080 Johnsons Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878.
