Andrew B. Menefee
CHESAPEAKE—Andrew Bryan Menefee, 81, died Feb. 10, 2009.
He was a native of Mancos, Colo., and was a son of the late Sylvester and Stella Menefee.
He was predeceased by wife Barbara June Menefee.
Survivors include his daughter, Theresa Menefee and significant other Robert of Franklin; a son, Stephen Menefee and wife Diana; two grandsons, A.J. and Tyler; a sister, Beverly Wheeler and a brother Walter Menefee.
He graduated at 16 and was enlisted in the Navy. After serving in the Navy, our father became a biochemical electrical engineer and did that for a number of years.
During those years, he also became adept at investments especially in the real estate market. Later he decided to change professions and became a dentist. Most people would have had trouble going back to school later in their life but he relished the change to educate himself and succeed in another career. He was the oldest one in his dental class at Loma Linda University and in fact one of the oldest in the nation but it was no surprise that he would graduate as one of the top students in his class.
He was always incredibly modest about his accomplishments and had a hard time accepting praise.
