NORFOLK—Sylvia L. “Lula,” died at her residence.
She was born June 21, 1934, in Isle Wight County.
Survivors include her husband, Alexander Joyner; one daughter, Gwendolyn Joyner; five sons, Cornell Joyner (Sandy), Rudy Joyner (Kim), Phillip Joyner (Sonya), Rayvon Joyner and Dana Joyner (Tersa); one sister, Brenda Tynes Smith (Charles); three brothers, William Tynes Jr. (Ann), Waverly Tynes (Li) and Clifton Tynes; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon today in United House of Prayer, Princess Anne Road.
Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
Family and friends will assemble at 936 Craten Road, Norfolk, one hour prior to service for procession to the church.
Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel, is in charge.
