COMO, N.C.—Jesse Mae Fennell, 89, of Bryantville Road, died Feb. 1, 2009, at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1919, in Hertford County. She was a member and missionary leader at St. Paul Church of Murfreesboro, N.C.
She was a retired farm worker.
Survivors include sons, Andrew Fennell of Murfreesboro, Thomas Fennell of Como, Mack Curtis Fennell of Durham, N.C., Wesley Fennell of Ahoskie, N.C. and Kenneth Fennell; daughters, Janie Chamblee and Bessie Williams, both of Ahoskie, and Christine Mitchell and Irene Tyler, both of Hampton; 29 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services was held Thursday at Menola First Baptist Church, Woodland, N.C., with the Rev. Melvin Ingram officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Rich Square, N.C., handled the arrangements.
