FRANKLIN—Frances Davis Woodard, 91, died Jan. 28, 2009, at her home at The Village at Woods Edge.
Mrs. Woodard was a native of Southampton County and was a long time former resident of Norfolk.
She was a daughter of the late Jesse Thomas and Gladys Beale Davis.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Thomas Woodard, her sister, Evelyn Davis Rose, and her two brothers, James Beale Davis and H. Lewis Davis.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Norfolk, and was a long time volunteer of Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, where she did volunteer work for over 25 years.
Survivors include her sister, Edith D. Edward (Joseph) of Pendleton, N.C. and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with Pastor William Trexler officiating.
The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, 32247 South Main Street, Boykins, one hour prior to the service and suggests memorials be made to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, 601 Children’s Lane, Norfolk, VA 23507.
