A worse garbage solution than SPSA: ReEnergy

To the Editor:

To sell the Southeastern Public Service Authority to ReEnergy Holdings would be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire or biting your nose off to spite your face.

To give the company a 20-year contract with no control over rates over those 20 years is ridiculous. Nine more years of SPSA (in the SPSA contract) is bad enough. To give a company a free hand is not acceptable.

Why don’t officials realize it’s time to tighten belts? Folks on fixed incomes are struggling in this economy.
