Marzella B. Cherry
SUFFOLK—Marzella Burton Cherry of 103 Charlotte Ave., died Jan. 22, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
She was a native of Southampton County and the daughter of the late George Burton and Julia Smith Hart.
She was also predeceased by her husband, William Cherry.
Mrs. Cherry was a former member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Antonio Cherry and Javias Cherry of Suffolk; one grandchild; three sisters, Nellie Burton, Hilda Boone (Joseph) of Suffolk and Georgia Mae Burton of Florida; a devoted friend, Clarence Parker; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held Tuesday at Sixth Street Baptist Church with the Rev. James Williams officiating. Interment followed in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
