Cornelia D. Springer
SEDLEY—Cornelia Dixon Springer, 90, widow of Earl E. Springer, died Jan. 24, 2009.
She was born in Pitt County, N.C., daughter of the late Elmer Basil and Rosebud Caton Dixon.
She was a retired LPN from Southampton Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the GFWC Sedley Woman’s Club.
Survivors include a brother, Carroll Caton Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; three nieces, June H. Dunlow and husband Bobby, Debra H. Bryant and husband Doug and Lynn H. Burgess and husband, Billy; a step-grandson, Steve R. Byrnes; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Dunlow, Rusty Dunlow, Dale Bryant, Sara Burgess, Mary Burgess.
Mrs. Springer was predeceased by two sisters, Henrietta D. Cobb and Mary D. Hundley, a brother, Elmer L. Dixon and a great-nephew, Matt Bryant.
A graveside service was conducted Monday at Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley with the Rev. Mary Marshall officiating.
Wright Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
