Allen R. Evans Sr.
DREWRYVILLE—Allen R. Evans Sr., 80, of the 1100 block of Fortsville Road, died Jan. 17, 2009.
He was born Sept. 10, 1928 to the late Edward Evans and Eliza Evans in Southampton County.
Mr. Evans was predeceased by his wife, Elois B. Evans.
He retired from Union Camp after 19 years of service. He was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Drewryville.
He was also predeceased by a son, Allen R. Evans Jr.
Survivors include five daughters, E. Marie Epps of Emporia, Joyce Martin of Edgewood, Md., Janet Wilkerson of Drewryville, June Young of Aberdeen, Md. and Vickie Cross of Williamsburg; two sons, Carl A. Evans of Sedley and J. Tyrone Evans of Franklin; one sister, Adell Newsome of Franklin.
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
