Roy E. Dean
VIRGINIA BEACH—Roy E. “RD” Dean, 52, died Jan. 18, 2009, in a local hospital.
He was a native of Princess Anne County, the youngest son of the late Randolph and Mattie Dean.
Mr. Dean loved fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his lifelong partner, Kathleen Macko; son, Tony Dean and wife Tracy of Elizabeth City, N.C.; daughter, Faith Dail and husband Lee of Hertford, N.C.; siblings, Randy Dean and wife Claudette of Sedley, Phoebe Braswell and husband Bob of Virginia Beach, Mary Ann Williams and husband Gene of Virginia Beach, Raymond Dean and wife Gail of Nashville, Tenn., and Alma Humphrey and husband Ken of Hertford; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
