Joanne D. Butler
VIRGINIA BEACH—Joanne Dolores Butler, 74, of the 4800 block of Berrywood Road died Jan. 14, 2009, in her home.
A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John McMaster and Avanell McMaster Stewart and the widow of Wayne Edwin Butler.
She taught music out of her home.
She was a graduate of Norview High School, Class of 1953, and a member of Oakdale Presbyterian Church where she was the organist for several years.
Survivors include her daughter, Traci Dela Cruz and husband Tony “Toto” of Virginia Beach; her son, Scott Wayne Butler and wife Angela of Windsor; four grandchildren, Alexis and Dylan Dela Cruz and Zackery and Tabitha Butler.
A funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel.
The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
