Clyde H. Reese
SEDLEY— Staff Sgt. Clyde Hyldred Reese died Jan. 6, 2009, at Hampton VA Hospital.
He was born Dec. 5, 1953 to the late Clyde H. Reese and Christene Butts Reese in Southampton County.
He was the grandson of the late Bishop R.T. Butts and Lucy Butts.
Mr. Reese retired from the Army after 20 years of service.
Survivors include two sisters, Cencenella Johnson (Robert) of Florence, S.C. and Bishop Christene Williams (Wiley) of Suffolk; one brother, Rogas “Tommy” Reese (Stella); three aunts, Kathryn Seabreeze and Rosa Reese, both of Sedley and Lena Powell of Norfolk; fiancé, Dawn Johnson of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Reese and Carol Reese.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Holiness Church, Sedley. Pastor Mary Stephens is officiating and Bishop Christene Williams is eulogist.
Burial will follow in old Saint Paul Holiness Church cemetery.
