Roger E. Hedgepeth Sr.
ZUNI—Roger Earl Hedgepeth Sr., 60, died Jan. 3, 2009.
He was born in Isle of Wight County, a son of the late Darden Woodrow and Jesse Mildred Copeland Hedgepeth.
He was also predeceased by a brother, James “J. D.” Hedgepeth and a nephew, Preston Lee Hedgepeth.
Mr. Hedgepeth was an Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of Zuni Hunt Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Hedgepeth St. Peter of Wakefield and Chelsea Hedgepeth of Franklin; a son, Roger E. “Bo” Hedgepeth Jr. and wife Kim of Norton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Justin Lee Taylor, Marcelo Guillermo Blanco Jr, and Amber Nicole St. Peter; one sister, Patricia Turner and husband Clifton of Scotland Neck, N.C.; three brothers, Floyd “Teeter” Hedgepeth and wife Betty of Suffolk, Russell Hedgepeth and wife Becky of Windsor and Dennis Hedgepeth and wife Barbara of Boykins; and sister-in-law, Claudette Hedgepeth of Suffolk.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Doug Van Niel officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
