John W. Dunlow
FRANKLIN—John Wayne Dunlow, 60, died Jan. 4, 2009, at his residence.
He was born in Franklin and was predeceased by his father, Emmett Dunlow and a brother, Michael Dunlow.
Mr. Dunlow was a 1966 graduate of Southampton High School, a former national guardsman, and a retired machine operator in the sheet finishing department of International Paper after 41 years of service.
He was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Judy Jones Dunlow; two sons, Brian Wayne Dunlow and wife Kathy, of Courtland and John Paul Dunlow of Virginia Beach; his mother, Ethel Bryant Dunlow of Franklin; two step-daughters, Karla Renea Wilkerson of Chester and Amelia Virginia Dunn of Petersburg; two step-sons, Bobbie Samuel Barfield, Jr. of Spring Grove and Thomas Gustavas Barfield of Sutherland; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Christina and Jake Dunlow, D. J. and Ashlie Henshaw, Tyler, Landon, Chandler, Liz, Timmy, Dylan and Abbey Barfield; and a nephew, Michael Dunlow Jr. of Mississippi.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home with the Revs. Jason Wise and Kenneth Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
