Mrs. How was the daughter of the late William T. Pittman and Ruth Wood Pittman.
She was the widow of Edward E. How of Norfolk.
She was a registered nurse and retired from Norfolk General as a private duty nurse.
She was a long time member of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include a brother, W.T. Pittman Jr.; two children, Anne H. Barbarisi and Edward E. “Ned” How Jr. , all of Courtland; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson and four sisters, Louise, Ruth, Billie and Emma Thomas.
Mrs. How has donated her body to the Virginia Anatomical Society.
She requested no service and in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Salvation Army or Courtland Rescue Squad.
