Annie M. Goodwin
FRANKLIN—Annie Maye Goodwin, 99, died Dec. 31, 2008.
She was born in Oxford, N.C., daughter of the late John T. and Esther Overton Mangum.
A resident of Franklin for more than 50 years, she most recently resided at the Village at Wood’s Edge.
Mrs. Goodwin was predeceased by her husband, William Hunter Goodwin Sr.
She was a longtime devoted member of High Street United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Goodwin Price and husband Dennis of Chesapeake, and her son, William H. Goodwin, Jr. and wife Alice of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Paul D. Price, Martha Hunter Price Turner, W. Hunter Goodwin III, Molly Goodwin Hardie, Matthew T. Goodwin, S. Camp Goodwin and Peter O. Goodwin; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in High Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Susan M. Reaves.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
There will be an interment at Poplar Spring following the reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund of High Street United Methodist Church, 301 W. First Ave., Franklin, Va. 23851.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, especially the devotion of Ann Dimick.
