Louise L. Holt
IVOR—Louise Lowe Holt, 88, died Dec. 26, 2008.
Born in Southampton County on Dec. 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Saint Luke and Mabel Drewry Lowe.
She was the widow of her husband of 63 years, William Henry Holt Jr.
Mrs. Holt was a member of the Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandma, a great cook and homemaker and a volunteer with the “Pink Ladies” at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was an avid gardener. She resided at Consulate Healthcare in Windsor for four years and nine months and during that time, despite her declining mental health, she was a much-loved bright spot for the residents and the staff.
Survivors include her four daughters, Becky Duval (Johnny), Toni Farrenkopf (Albert), both of Suffolk, Brenda Mathews (Richard) of Carrollton, and Donna Chesson (Doug) of Ivor; three sisters, Inez L. Holt of Ivor, Elise L. Asbell of Suffolk, Juanita L. Rousse of Raceland, La.; nine grandchildren, Candy D. Nickert (Joe) Laura F. Lathrop (Wayne), Daniel B. Farrenkopf (Yvette), R. Thomas Mathews, Jenna L. Johnson ( Sam), Hannah R. Mitchell (Matthew), Blaire D. Chesson, Adam H. Chesson, Tyler A. Chesson; eight great grandchildren, Noah L. Nickert, Luke W. Nickert, Alex E. Lathrop, Shawn D. Lathrop, Blake W. Farrenkopf, Dylan L. Farrenkopf, Brianna K. Farrenkopf, Ethan A. Mitchell.
She was predeceased by a brother, Haywood G. Lowe, and two sisters, Helen L. Warren and Sadie L. Turner.
A funeral service was held Monday by David Hobson at Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral in Wakefield.
Burial followed at Ivor Cemetery.
