Lillie S. Futrell
CONWAY, N.C.—Lillie Mae Spence Futrell, 88, died Dec. 28, 2008, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis E. Spence, a grandson, Chip Beale, parents, Virginia Jenkins and Lucius Warren and a brother, L.E. Warren Jr.
A native of Northampton County, she was, in her quiet and patient way, a devoted, loving mother to her family of four daughters and was a caregiver to her extended family as well.
Mrs. Futrell was a member of Conway Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Spence Nash and husband Paul of Greenville, N.C., Pat Spence Hedspeth of Raleigh, N.C., Celeste Spence Phillips and husband, Alec and Donna Spence Griffin and husband Chester, all of Franklin; five grandchildren, Lisa Mason, Ryan Hedspeth, Matt Hedspeth, Brian Phillips and Natalie Schaefer; and two great-grandchildren, Allison Schaefer and Danielle Schaefer.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Conway Baptist Church with the Revs. Willie McLawhorn and Peggy Bridgers presiding.
Burial will follow in the Town of Conway cemetery.
