NEWPORT NEWS—June V. (Lemon) Prince, 45, died Dec. 24, 2008.
She is the daughter of the late Pauline Lemon and the late Willie Gray; and the granddaughter of the late Albertus (Buster) and Martha Lemon.
Mrs. Prince served in the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 1991.
She was most recently employed with Christopher Newport University, Student Services Division, until the time of her illness. She was an active member of the World Outreach Worship Center, where she served as a member of the Music Ministry and the Praise and Worship Team.
Survivors include her husband, Minister Peter Prince; her four stepchildren and their mates, Jason and Rose Prince, Jeremy and Jennifer Prince, Michelle and Salvatore Fatta, and Jonathan and Nipa Prince; her two step grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Joey Fatta and Kaylee Fatta; three maternal aunts, Barbara Hall and Alberta Lemon both of Smithfield, and Evangelist Vickie Lemon-Johnson of Ivor; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by her uncle, Tazwell Pierce.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at World Outreach Worship Center with Pastor Bobby Collins officiating.
Burial will be at noon at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
Arrangements are being handled by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
