Alvin Ricks
NEWPORT NEWS—Alvin Ricks of 19th St., died Dec. 24, 2008, while a patient in Riverside Convalescent Center, Smithfield.
On August 4, 1948, he was born in Isle of Wight County to John S. and Frances V. Green Ricks.
Mr. Ricks was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Ann Ricks.
Survivors include his sons, Alvin Ricks Jr. of Chesapeake, Maurice Ricks, Ronnie Ricks, Tyrone Ricks, all of Franklin; his brothers, Reginald Ricks, Norfolk, Lawrence Ricks, Ernest Ricks of Courtland, Robert Lee Ricks of Sedley, Freddie Ricks of Franklin; one sister, Shirley Ricks of Courtland; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home.
