WINDSOR—Roberta “Robin” Lynn Marsette Netherland, 44, died unexpectedly Dec. 21, 2008, completing a courageous battle with diabetes.
Mrs. Netherland was born in Newport News, grew up in Poquoson, and had lived in Isle of Wight since she was 15 years old.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and beloved daughter and sister.
She loved to cook and care for her family.
Preceded in death by her father, James D. Edwards Sr.; and brother, James D. Edwards Jr., she leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 28 years, Michael Allen Netherland; her children, Krista, Dani, Cory, Cody and Michael Jr.; her mother, Marlene Marsette Edwards; her sister, Linda McQuillen; and brother, John A. Edwards; her grandchildren, Hailey, Romeo and Trynitee.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m. Friday in Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. John Payne officiating.
Burial will be private. The family will receive friends following the service.
Arrangements are in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
