John F. Wellons
SEDLEY—John Frank Wellons, 90, died Dec. 19, 2008.
Mr. Wellons was a native of Sedley, a son of the late Levi Thomas and Sally Rose Wellons and was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Raiford Wellons and his son, John Curtis Wellons. Mr. Wellons was a native of Sedley, a son of the late Levi Thomas and Sally Rose Wellons and was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Raiford Wellons and his son, John Curtis Wellons. John Frank was a Navy veteran of WWII, a retired brick contractor and a member of Sedley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his grandson, Chris Wellons and wife Theresa and great-grandson, John Stephen Wellons, all of Bowie, Md.
The funeral was held Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating.
Burial with military honors followed at Rosemont Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sedley Baptist Church, 17494 Johnson’s Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878 or Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, 18080 Johnson’s Mill Road, Sedley, VA 23878.
