Alice K. Parrish
ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C.—Alice Kinker Parrish, 92, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., died Dec. 21, 2008, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
She was born in Roanoke Rapids and was the daughter of the late James E. Kinker and Maude L. George Kinker.
Mrs. Parrish was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernard Samuel Parrish; her son, Sandy Parrish; two brothers, Emmett and Elvin Kinker.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Lee Bryant and husband Basil of Courtland and Elizabeth “Libby” Barrett of Roanoke Rapids; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Tuesday in Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Greg Short officiating.
Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
