Pynell B. Jones
MURFREESBORO, N.C.—Pynell B. Jones, 83, died at the Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square, N.C. on Dec. 15, 2008.
She was a native of Bertie County.
Mrs. Jones was married to Robert Jones Jr. and lived in Scotland Neck, N.C., for many years while working at the Halifax Hosiery Mill and later Paul Bruce Manufacturing.
In the late 70s they moved to Conway, N.C.
Mr. Jones died in 1988 and she continued to live at home with her son.
She and her son moved to Murfreesboro approximately five years ago so that they could be close to her daughter, Shirley.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Preceding her in death other than her husband are her mother and father, Tenie Hoggard Barnes and Albert Barnes; her sister, Sarah Vashti Francis; and her brother, Albert Barnes.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley J. Futrell and husband Herbert; one son, Robert Allen Jones, all of Murfreesboro; and one sister, Annie Briggs and husband Haywood of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Janet Francis, Wynn Futrell and Allen Jones; and six great-grandchildren, Alana and Harley Jones, Brandon and Justin Francis and Megan and Hunter Futrell.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck.
Officiating was the Rev. David Foster.
Arrangements were being handled by Sykes Funeral Service of Scotland Neck.
