Bruce H. Adams
FRANKLIN—Minister Bruce Henry Adams, 72, died Dec. 17, 2008.
A native and longtime resident of Java, he was a son of the late Raymond Terry and Isabel Finch Adams. Mr. Adams was a longtime Pittsylvania County tobacco farmer, member of Providence United Methodist Church and a charter member of Java Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his daughter, Wanda Adams Marks and husband Eddie of Courtland; his grandson, Joshua Adam Marks of Cary, N.C.; two sisters, Narvie Richards of Wake Forest, N.C. and Juanita Adkins of Java and a brother, Calvin Adams of Roanoke.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Shelton and two brothers, Hugh Adams and Wilbur Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Providence United Methodist Church, Java, Va. with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville.
Memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, the Java Volunteer Fire Department or a favorite charity.
