Dorothy L. Singleton
NEW BERN, N.C.—Dorothy Lee Everette Singleton, 66, of North Hills Drive, died Dec. 10, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
She was a native of Conway and resided in Aulander, N.C. prior to retiring to New Bern in the early 90’s.
Mrs. Singleton was a cosmetologist at Designing Image.
Her membership at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church included serving as an usher, youth choir director and Sabbath school assistant.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Singleton of the home; one daughter, Diana Singleton of Garner, N.C.; one son, Gregory Singleton of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five sisters, Ozella Dickens and Jean Benthall of Conway, N.C., Mollie Vaughan of Woodland, N.C. and Louise Parker and Linda Williams of Murfreesboro, N.C.; six brothers, Howard Everette Jr. of Conway, Arthur Everette, Charles Everette and Charlie Everette, all of Murfreesboro, James Melvin Everette of Woodland and Irvin Everette of Rocky Mount; and three grandchildren.
Her funeral service was held Monday at Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church, New Bern with Pastor Eugene Mason officiating.
The interment was in the Singleton Family Cemetery, Vanceboro, N.C.
Arrangements were handled by Oscar’s Mortuary, New Bern.
