FRANKLIN—Raging winds and torrential rains blew through the region Thursday.
But, according to Jimmy Gray at the Franklin Municipal Airport, it really wasn’t much.
The official reading in Franklin was 2.3 inches of rain and winds reaching32 knots, or 37 mph.
At about 6 p.m. Thursday, Isle of Wight County officials, using the county’s new emergency-alert system, reported minor flooding on secondary roads throughout the county.
Skies cleared Friday morning, setting the stage for a dry, cooler weekend. A high temperature in the mid-40s is expected Saturday.
