George W. Stepp
SEDLEY—George Wallace Stepp, 62, owner and operator of George’s Overhead Doors, died suddenly Dec. 6, 2008.
Born in Charleston, W.Va., he was one of 14 children of the late Webster and Nora Katherine Martin Stepp.
He was an Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War, and was a member of Sedley Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and serving as a substitute Sunday school teacher. He was a faithful husband and father for 36 years.
He truly loved the Lord and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Arvay Stepp; his daughter, Abby S. McMichael of Sedley; four sons, John Stepp and wife Jennifer of Windsor, Andrew Stepp, Michael Stepp and Nathaniel Stepp, all of Sedley; five grandchildren, Kiana, Kenny, Zachary and Lauryn McMichael and Alyssa Stepp; 12 brothers and sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Sedley Baptist Church.
