Virginia G. Ayscue
WASHINGTON, N.C.—Dr. Virginia G. Ayscue, 89, died Nov. 28, 2008, at her home.
She received her PhD from UNC; her MA from ASU and her bachelor’s degree from UNC.
She taught English in Fairfax County, Murfreesboro High School from 1944-47 and Washington High School for 15 years and was assistant professor of English at Elizabeth City University.
She retired after eight years as Supervisor of Language Teachers in Wilson Schools. She was also a published author.
She was a member First Christian Church of Washington.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Bellar of Hickory; and a grandson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, by Dr. Michael Price.
Burial followed in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
