SMITHFIELD—Mary Caroline Bage Crocker died Nov. 29, 2008.
She was born on Christmas Day 1908.
She spent her first 50 years in Surry, Waverly and Wakefield, before moving to Smithfield.
Mrs. Crocker was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield, and the Wesley Sunday School Class.
Although she never had children of her own she was a second mother to her niece and nephews. She also loved animals and treated them as children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Crocker; brothers, Robert, Eddie, Stanley and Frank Bage; sisters, Doris Harrison and Nellie Cooper and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her brother, Willie K. Bage of Hampton; niece, Peggy and husband Allen Langford; nephews, Eddie and wife Margie, Robert, Ralph, Kenneth and Tommy Bage.
A celebration of her life was held Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Will Montgomery officiating.
Internment followed in Waverly Cemetery.
The family would like to express thanks to Riverside Convalescent Center and Riverside Hospice Care.
