CAPRON—Mae Dell Boone, died Nov. 28, 2008, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1919 in Southampton County to the late Jack Futrell and Mary Alice Martin.
Mrs. Boone was a member of Odom Chapel Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir until she became ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Boone Sr. and son, Robert Lee Boone.
Survivors include her two sons, Nathaniel Futrell and wife Deaconess Shirley Futrell of Courtland and Curtis Myrick and wife Cynthia Myrick of Newsoms; three daughters, Nellie Mae Freeman of Courtland, Mae Alice Myrick of Courtland and Linda Barham and husband Elder Henry Lee Barham of Capron; one adopted daughter (grandchild), Sharon Nissen and husband Vincent Nissen of Virginia Beach; two stepchildren, Aubrey Boone of Baltimore, Md. and Romine Woods of Pendleton, N.C.; grandchildren, Dolly Freeman-Westbrook of Courtland, Terry Futrell of Petersburg, Beverly Freeman-Shearin of Courtland, Caroline Freeman of Courtland, Jerry Futrell of Courtland, Kenneth Barham of Courtland, Keisha Freeman of Courtland, Keith Barham of Franklin, Shetora Myrick of Courtland, Delores Woods of North Carolina, Calvin Woods of North Carolina, Carlton Boone of Branchville and Linda Boone of Branchville; a host of great grand-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Odom Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. T.L. Parker officiating.
Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
