Jacqueline B. Downing
NEWPORT NEWS—Jacqueline Brooks Downing, 77, died Nov. 26, 2008.
Born in Whitakers, N.C., she has been a Peninsula resident for 47 years.
She had a great passion for all forms of art, especially sculpting and paint on canvas.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn J. and John Watson of Boykins, Susan Brooks Jernigan of Newport News and Jean D. and Tim B. Saunders of Newport News; and her granddaughter, Whitney L. Swaim of Richmond.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the Virginia Living Museum, 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601 or the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, 101 Museum Dr., Newport News, VA 23601.
