Even if you haven’t been good

Hey, kids (and parents, in case the children aren’t reading this page yet), Friday is the last day to send in letters to Santa to get them published in a special edition of The Tidewater News.

This added section is a much-loved bonus for our readers because they get to see all the cute faces and read all of the sweet letters that were sent in, searching the many columns for their own requests.

It’s extra special to us, too.

The TN staff comes together to pitch in on the project, typing letters, scanning in photos and feverishly checking e-mails for submissions until the last minute.

It makes our hearts swell with pride when we read letters from kids who want something for someone else, or see pictures of puppies and kitties and birds — yes, birds — who also have a request for the big guy.

Yes, Santa letters are a cherished tradition at this newspaper.

And the elves at The Tidewater News can’t wait to see them in print on Dec. 21.

Bring your letters and photos to our office at 1000 Armory Drive in Franklin and put them in the special mailbox here.

Or e-mail Santa instead at santa@tidewaternews.com.
