WAKEFIELD—Ercelle C. Lockett, 92, died Nov. 30, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Wakefield.
Born in Greensville County, she was the daughter of the late Obie L. and Sarah Scarborough Cockes.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ernest Lee Lockett Jr.
Mrs. Lockett was the oldest living member of Elm Street Baptist Church where she was active for many years.
Survivors include a son, Donald E. Lockett and wife, Arline of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Gypsy L. Rollings and husband, Gardner of Wakefield and Claire L. Marsh and husband, Herbert of Chesterfield; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Harvey Skinner, officiating.
