Evelyn White Blythe
WINDSOR—Evelyn White Blythe, 81, of Old Myrtle Road, departed this life Nov. 26, 2008, in Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond.
She was a native of Tyner in Chowan County, N.C., and the daughter of the late Arsie Millard White and Pattie Ward White. She retired as an office employee of the former Leggett’s Department Store in Suffolk. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday school class. For several years, she was a member of the church choir.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 20 years, Berkley Draper Blythe; two sisters, Ruby W. Weaver and Dora W. Aston and her husband, Nathaniel, all of Suffolk; a brother, Roger P. White of Carrsville; and four nieces and four nephews.
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Steve Hill officiating, followed by burial in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
