WILMINGTON, N.C.—Betty Louise Knapp, 61, of the 300 block of Darlington Ave., died Nov. 18, 2008, in Nansemond Point Nursing Home, Suffolk.
Mrs. Knapp, a native of Norton, was the daughter of the late Charles James Lyons Jr. and Ethel Pearl Sloan Lyons and the widow of Haywood Fred Knapp Sr.
She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Kay Knapp Fox of Ivor; a son, Haywood Fred Knapp Jr. of Wilmington; two brothers, Eddie Lyons and Thomas Columbo, both of Wilmington, Del.; five grandchildren, Hunter Fox, Jessica Fox, Joseph Fox, Jackson Fox and Jordan Fox; sister-in-law, Nora Laaksonen and husband Wil and their daughter Michele, all of Onancock; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Cartwright and wife Lois and Kenneth Cartwright and wife Mary Alice, all of South Mills, N.C.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Thigpen officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
