CARRSVILLE—Alexander Carter Jr., died Nov. 7, 2008, in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Alexander Carter.
Mr. Carter was a Louisiana native. He was retired from the military.
Survivors include three daughters, Shevella P. Carter of Afghanistan, Julia M. Carter of Dallas, Texas and Tamika J. Copeland of Carrsville; former wife, Julia Carter of Louisiana; one sister; one brother, John Carter; and one grandchild.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Morning Star Baptist Church in New Road, La.
Burial will be held Tuesday in Fort Hudson Cemetery in Louisiana.
