Southampton’s season ends with loss

Troy Fiedler rushed for 178 yards on 13 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead Poquoson to a 45-7 win over Southampton High in the Bay Rivers District season finale for both teams.
The contest was Southampton’s last in the Bay Rivers District. The Indians will be moving to the Southside District starting next football season. Poquoson (8-2, 8-1) won the Bay Rivers District.
Fiedler had touchdown runs of 61, 20, 13, and 1 yard as the Islanders rolled to a 45-0 lead.
Southampton’s lone touchdown came with 4:31 left in the game when Andre Rawls scored on a 38-yard run. Rawls finished the game with 85 yards on 18 carries.
Southampton had 196 total yards offense while Poquoson rolled up 436 yards. Southampton quarterback Kendal Carwile was 4-for-10 for 24 yards and an interception. Backup Billy Nixon threw for 18 yards on 2-for-3 passing. Calvin Stringfield rushed for 66 yards on six carries for the Indians (2-8, 2-7).
