Listen closely

I am an American and I did not vote for Barack Obama. I will call him President Obama because that is what we do as Americans.

With that being said, I would like to caution Americans not to take what they are hearing in the news “hook, line and sinker.”

There has been a lot of style and I must admit great speeches made by Barack Obama. He looks great on camera and he has charisma working for him.

I have to say that I put all of that aside and really, really listen to what he has to say. When I do that, I must admit that I will be on guard with our new president and the trust and love is just not there for me. He will have to earn it.

I congratulate president-elect Obama on his victory. I will never support him on the following issues and I hope the rest of America will keep him in check as well.

I do not believe in socialism. I am an American and believe in this country as a Republic. That is how it was founded and that is the way it should stay. If you turn our country into more of a welfare state than it already is then where is the motivation for anyone to work? If you redistribute wealth, then people will look for ways to cut back and that means jobs and charity giving.

I do not believe in a civilian national security force that is just as strong and well-funded as the current military. I do not understand why a President Obama would want this when we already have the strongest military in the world. He did not even want to fund the current military and now he wants to create an entirely new one. If you look back in history this could not go well for our country.

I do not believe in partial-birth abortion. I believe that in that stage of pregnancy it is murder.

I do not believe in talking to dictators of foreign countries that want to harm the United States, especially with no pre-conditions.

I do not believe that our president should have working relationships with known terrorists on a personal level.

I do not believe that our president should have friendships with America haters such as Reverend Jeremiah Wright. I believe in keeping God on our money and in the Pledge of Allegiance.

It will be very challenging to take what the most liberal Senator in the United States (now President-elect) has to deliver.

Let’s hope “his rhetoric (bark) is worse than his bite.”
