Marcella L. Stevens
GLOUCESTER—Marcella Landis Stevens, 69, died Nov. 1, 2008.
Mrs. Stevens was a former resident of Franklin and was predeceased by her parents, Rex Long and Elizabeth W. Fulton and step-father, William H. Fulton.
She was also predeceased by her second husband, Parker Darden Sr.
She was retired from the Southampton County Department of Social Services and had been a member of the Franklin Congregational Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley L. Stevens; two daughters, Laura Carroll and Cindy Appel and husband David, all of Virginia Beach; one son, Mark Darden of Franklin; one granddaughter, Harleigh Irizarry; step-children, Parker Darden Jr., Richard Darden, Valerie Umphlette,, Donna Crowell, Kim Osterman, Wayne Stevens, Dale Stevens, and Colleen Singleton.
A graveside service was conducted Tuesday at Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
