Nonie M. Gore
SUFFOLK—Nonie Mae Gore, 83, of the 6000 block of Scottsfield Drive, died Oct. 22, 2008, in her home.
Mrs. Gore was a native of Franklin. She was the daughter of the late Daniel W. Murphy and Cora B. Murphy.
She was also predeceased by her husband James Gore; a sister, Odessa Walker; a son -in-law, James Kettrles; and two brothers-in-law, Eddie Jeffres and Robert Collins.
She retired from Beldock Company in New York after 40 years of service.
She was a member of Sanford Tabernacle Holiness Church in Sanford, Fla., where she served on the Mother Board as secretary and was an usher at The House of the Lord in Brooklyn, New York.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores M. Buck and Elcsie Pecora Buck Kettrles, both of Suffolk; one adopted son, George Kindred of Carrollton; and a very special daughter, Shonda Turner of Franklin; three sisters, Selena Jeffres of Franklin, Louise Pope (Hosie) of Franklin and Audrey Collins, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Willie James Murphy of Franklin; two sisters-in-law, Ann Gore of Durham, N.C. and Emma Buck of Franklin; one brother-in-law, Liston Gore of Durham; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at O’Berry AME Zion Church, Franklin, with Pastor Carrie Buie Bryant of Sanford, Fla., eulogist.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
